They are not afraid of cold and can spend much time outdoors. Although most dogs don’t perform their original function nowadays, they retain working abilities necessary for hunting, such as a keen sense of smell, love for water, agility, intelligence and the desire to please the master. Grooming requirements for this breed are rather high, as its long coat sheds much throughout the year.
