Foothills Golden Retriever
Foothills Golden Retriever Rescue provides training for any dog that is going to be adopted.
The demand for specialized hunting dogs emerged with gun invention. Old hunting breeds, like Setters and Pointers made way for a new breed created at the end of the 19th century. It originated from a cross of several hunting breeds popular at that time. These hounds were able to find the downed game in the bushes, on cold water and on all possible terrains, which made them irreplaceable for many years to come. These hounds had a soft mouth, a good sense of smell, and were very active and curious. Everything in their conformation and personality was aimed at searching for the game.
